An aged Saguaro has the top quarter section and a few arms fall off from its location in Mesa, Arizona on April 3, 2024. Arizona's iconic Saguaros have a tolerance limit from draught and heat exposure. The record high and prolonged heat waves that happened during 2020 and 2023 are taking their toll causing the arms to fall off, structural collapse, and difficulty to thrive.
