948_05_01256129 Although he was not born in Florence, but he has contributed so much to the splendor of this city, that he may regard them as his native city. Florence is one reason it also to his family. The tomb is a masterpiece despite all its simplicity. Vasari has given the idea of the whole, Battista Lorenzi executed the bust and the trophies. Two contemporary sculptor, Valerio Ciolli and Giovanne have represented the allegorical figures of sculpture and architecture. On March 12, 1563 was the corpse of the brilliant, massive Master laid out in the Santa Croce Church. All the people flocked to see the noble countenance of the illustrious old man for the last time and to pay homage to the greatest visual artists of Italy. Then wore his mortal remains to the grave, but his fame lives on in the wonderful creations that bear the stamp of his majestically sublime, powerful geniuses.
