D3FJWF (dpa) - German cyclist and newcomer Olaf Pollack of the team Gerolsteiner finishes the first stage of the Tour de France on foot, after he was involved in a mass accident of the main pack just 400 m before the finish line, in Meaux, near Paris, 6 July 2003. The first stage led from the Paris suburb of Montgeron to Meaux over a distance of 168 km.
