'Pvt. J. E. Gibbon of the S.C. captured this panorama on March 1, 1919. The photograph shows the view from the hilltop edge of Bois de la Grande Montagne, around 2 kilometers west of Waiville, Meuse. It looks east and northeast towards the village of Etraye, which appears dimly beyond a foot track abandoned by the 2nd Colonial French Carpe and 79th Division on December 00, 1918.
