Descrição:	(dpa files) - A statue of the legendary jazz trumpeter and singer Louis Armstrong ('It's A Wonderful World'), also called 'Satchmo', stands in a park in New Orleans, in the US state Lousisana, 2001. Louis Armstrong was born in one of the poorest sections of New Orleans, 4 August 1901. Already at a very young age, he largely supported himself as a musician. The early 1920s saw Armstrong's popularity explode. He was a headliner on records and radio, and in jazz clubs. After World War II and though the early years of the Cold War, Armstrong served as 'Ambassador Satch', spreading good will for America around the globe. By the 1950s, Armstrong was an established international celebrity, an icon to musicians and lovers of jazz. His death on 6 July 1971 was front-page news around the world. He is seen as the greatest of all jazz musicians.
