50271479 Aerial view of Natural Monument of El Cerro del Hierro. Alanis Sierra Norte Natural Park. Seville province. Region of Andalusia. Spain. Europe.Cerro de Hierro, an authentic natural monument with more than 600 million years of history. What was an old mining center has become a fantastic place for hiking, climbing, mountain biking, or enjoying, when night falls, stargazing. They call it Sevillian Siberia, since in winter the temperature has even dropped to -14ºC. Geologically it is a karstic paradise, made of limestone rock, which converted iron ores into oxides and hydroxides that were deposited in its cavities, forming veins rich in iron that justified its mining exploitation during the last century. Precisely, this mining work has been responsible for creating, in part, this reddish landscape of improbable and beautiful shapes full of lapiaces and chasms. I want to inspire the next generation of scientists, and especially girls, and let them know that STEM is for them. These subjects are just too important to be left to the guys because through science, you can literally change the world. I hope my doll will remind girls that when you reach for the stars, anything is possible.â?...Her one-of-a-kind Barbie wears a starry dress reminiscent of the night sky and comes with a telescope accessory for stargazing....The science educatorâ??s story is particularly inspiring, as she had an unsettled upbringing and initially struggled in school due to dyslexia - despite being exceptionally bright. She says, â??a government statistician would have forecast a pretty bleak future for me.â? ...However, an obsession with the space-set stop-motion animation The Clangers and Star Trek sparked her ambitions, and her father nurtured her hopes and dreams, which coupled with hard work, enabled, â??A (Cre

20221009_zaa_p133_239 October 9, 2022, Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan: The biggest and brightest Full Hunter''s Moon rises in Lahore. Stargazers across the globe are witnessing the biggest and brightest moon of the year, the Full Hunters''s Moon. The October full hunter moon will be closer to Earth than any other full moon this year. The Hunter?s Moon is just an ordinary full moon with a special path across our sky. Still, many of us do think the Hunter?s Moon looks bigger ? or brighter ? and more orange than usual. Why? It?s because the Hunter?s Moon has a powerful mystique. Many people look for it shortly after sunset around the time of full moon. After sunset around any full moon, the moon will always be near the horizon ? because full moons rise at sunset. Plus, it?s the location of the moon near the horizon that causes the Hunter?s Moon ? or any full moon ? to look big and orange in color. The orange color of a moon near the horizon is a true physical effect. It stems from the fact that, when you look toward the horizon, you?re looking through a greater thickness of Earth?s atmosphere than when you gaze up overhead. The atmosphere scatters blue light, which is why the sky looks blue. The greater thickness of atmosphere in the direction of a horizon scatters blue light most effectively, but it lets red light pass through to your eyes. So, a full moon near the horizon ? any full moon near the horizon ? takes on a yellow or orange or reddish hue. (Credit Image: © Rana Sajid Hussain/Pacific Press/Zuma Press/Fotoarena Wire)
