....***Hamburg, May 3rd, 2024 - Swan Benni, who was found seriously injured on the Maschsee lake in Hanover in March, was given a new home in Hamburg today. On Friday morning, volunteer ''swan mother'' Sabine Keunecke brought him by car from Hanover to the Hanseatic city to hand Benni over to her colleague Olaf Nieß. Benni's injuries were so severe that one of his wings had to be amputated. Now unable to fly, the swan could no longer be released into the wild. For this reason, he was admitted to the Hamburg swan sanctuary at Eppendorf Mühlenteich. Visibly satisfied, Benni sat down on the pond in his new home and did a few rolls in the water in front of the camera. If everything goes well and Benni has settled in, Hamburg's swan father Olaf Nieß hints that it is even possible that the swan could be moved to an outdoor area in the s (Credit Image: © Nibor/Action Press/Zuma Press/Fotoarena)
