February 2, 2024, Vilanova De Sau, Spain: Dead trees are seen at the Sau water reservoir. Catalonia's authorities declared the state of emergency on Thursday 01 February after the region's water reservoirs levels fell below 16% of the total capacity. Measures will be imposed to restrict the water usage of both public infrastructures and private companies, affecting the lives of more than 6 millions people. Climate change is said to be one of the main causes of the drought in various regions of Spain and in the Mediterranean region. (Credit Image: © Davide Bonaldo/SOPA Images/Zuma Press/Fotoarena Wire)
